Here’s some information about our upcoming Meet this week against Daniel Park:

Heat sheets will not be sold, instead they’ve sent us the file so each family can print a copy before coming to the Meet.Here is the link (also posted on www.rivershyresharks.com). You can also use it to sharpie the events on your swimmer – Event/Heat/Lane.

Address:  1590 Daniel Park Drive, Dacula, GA 30019

Arrival time:  5:15 pm, warm-ups begin at 5:25 pm

Theme:  Favorite team jersey

Pool:  Daniel Park is a 6 lane pool – Having an extra lane is great as the event will move a bit more quickly, but, it also means we need some additional volunteers (more times and an additional verifier).A big thank you to all who have signed up for additional shifts.

Information from the Daniel Park team

Parking:  There is limited parking at the pool and we have to allow for access to the tennis courts. There will be a tennis match going on Thursday so it is important that parking places marked as reserved for tennis be left open.

Parking is on one side of the road (it will be marked), please do not to block any driveways or hydrants. There will be signs directing your team to our pool and signs indicating which side of the road to park on. Please remember that it is illegal to park within 30 feet in front of a stop sign as we have new stop signs this year in three different spots. We often have a police officer patrolling so it is important for everyone to obey standing parking laws. There is also an elementary school right before our neighborhood, Fort Daniel ES. In some cases, it might be just as easy to drop off people and stuff at the pool (we will have a drop off area) and return to the school for parking.

Bullpen:  Your bullpens will be inside the pool gate under the pergola. We expect our swimmers to stay off the playground. You may advise your kids as you wish. We will be staging from both sides to keep your swimmers from having to navigate around the entire pool.

Parent seating:  You are more than welcome to sit on any side of the pool; however, most of our team takes the left side (if you are coming through the gate) and visiting teams typically take the right. Your team is free to bring umbrellas or small shading tents to use until the sun sets.

Results:  Will be posted on the gate.

Concessions:  Will be serving hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza, nachos, baked potatoes, drinks and candy as well as Tradewind Coffee.

Rain plan:  If we have a rain delay due to storms, we will ask people to go to their cars if they need safe shelter. We do not have a clubhouse to shelter people safely. In the event of severe weather stopping the meet, our makeup is Friday night, June 12.
