Monday night Meet info, end of season party date and more...
The Rivershyre vs Apalachee Meet Results are posted. You can view them here or in the Swim Meets section of the site. Final score was an 8 point victory for the Sharks - I don’t think there’s been a closer Meet score in the 10+ years my kids have swum summer league. So proud of all our swimmers who continue to knock off time and give their best each week!
Our last dual Meet is Monday at HOME against Maple Ridge.
- Meet arrival time – 4:45 pm (at the latest), warm-ups begin at 5:00 (home team warms up first)
- The Meet theme is PINK OUT. Parents who don’t wear pink, let’s Shark out – rock your team attire.
- Volunteers – please check in by 5:30 pm, unless you are setup (4:00 pm arrival) or concessions (5:00 pm arrival). The timer and officials meeting will take place at 5:45 pm.
On the subject of volunteers, a huge thank you to the parents who’ve stepped up and worked extra volunteer shifts this season! Although we do our best to keep the request to 4 sessions, with vacations, summer camps, rain delays, and unexpected life events that hit our Shark families, extra help is sometimes needed. It takes a (big) village to run a Meet and we have an outstanding group of parents who make it possible – the team council thanks you and your kids thank you:-).
End of Season party
- The End of Season celebration will be Saturday, August 4th from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the Rivershyre clubhouse and pool. (This is the Saturday before school starts.) The rain date is Sunday, August 5th.
- The awards ceremony will take place at 7:00 pm in the Pavilion.
- The party is a potluck. The team provides the main entrees and drinks, and families are asked to make a contribution of dessert, salad or side dish, depending on your swimmer’s age. More details to be sent about the party as we get closer to the date.
Lost & Found – I confess I forgot to put out the Lost & Found items this Thursday, but promise to have them available this Monday. Please stop by the check-in table and see if any of your items have made their way into the pile.
County Meet
- The County practice schedule has been posted on the www.rivershyresharks.com Home page.
- Swimmers who participate in County are those in the Top 100 who wish to be seeded for the County Meet and those who’ve been notified that their swimmer is on a County relay team. The final County Top 100 will likely be posted on Wednesday. You can view the full 100 list on the GCSL site. We'll pull and post the RS swimmers-only list on the team site as soon as we have get access to the final list.
- If you’re unsure if you’re swimmer is on the County team, please ask Coach Driscoll.
We’re in the home stretch - let’s finish strong!
Beth
