Tickets for Seating – We’ll pick up our team tickets on Sunday. The number of tickets is determined by the number of team member swimmers in the session. The location of seating is based on:
- Winners of the Margaret Gilbert award for Sportsmanship
- Top 10 Finishers from County in the previous year (2018)
- The remaining teams are broken down into three groups and rotated each year. So, if you were in the bottom 1/3 last year with the furthest away seats, you will be in the top 1/3 this year after the MG winners and Top 10 groups.
- Any teams that doesn’t turn in their County Meet Volunteer names by the deadline are automatically put in the bottom 1/3 for seating the following year.
New deck policy – NO PARENTS ALLOWED – please note, this year the GCSL County Meet is following the Olympic community & USA Swimming’s new SafeSport Guidelines to recognize, reduce and respond to misconduct in sport. The six primary types of misconduct are Bullying, Harassment, Hazing, Emotional Misconduct, Physical Misconduct, and Sexual Misconduct, including Child Sexual Abuse.
For the County Meet, this means:
- No unauthorized adults will be allowed on deck. Period. This includes during warmups. Only adults with a badge (Timers, Staging, etc) that are working the meet will be allowed on deck at the appropriate time.
- What if I am a volunteer worker?
- You will be provided a copy of the guidlines when you sign up to volunteer and, upon receiving a badge at the volunteer check-in, you will sign your acknowledgment as having received the document.
- What if I have a small child? I used to walk them down on deck.
- This year, we are allowing each team to bring up to FIVE (5) assistant coaches to assist with getting your kids safely set up on deck. You may walk your child to the stairs to meet their coach on deck. The coaches will escort the children to the team sitting area.
- Adults and Children are not allowed to use the same bathroom facility. The main locker rooms will be for swimmers only (this will be monitored by GaTech Security) and a separate Adult-only restroom will be provided on the deck level near the weight room. An adult coach will be able to escort the kids to the restroom and a Junior Coach/Swimmer will be allowed to walk them in if needed.
- NO PERSONAL CAMERAS will be allowed on deck…even for workers. You may have your mobile phone on deck, but not use it to take pictures. If you want pictures of the swimmers, please sign up with our sponsor, River Oak Photography. We will be sending out a link to sign up for the pictures online before the meet.
