Rivershyre Swim Team Early Registration is Now Open

Hey Sharks – 2020 swim team early registration is open on www.rivershyresharks.com for Rivershyre residents and those with extended family (parents, siblings) living in Rivershyre. Registration opens on Sunday, March 15th for all non-residents. I hope everyone is looking forward to summer swim:-).

Key dates for the season are posted on www.rivershyresharks.com. Please mark your calendars for the March 15th Open House at the Rivershyre Clubhouse. At Open House, you can register (if you haven’t already done so), say hello to the 2020 head and assistant coaches, enjoy snacks and games, try on swim suits, and shop for other swim items from the Swim Atlanta Swim Shop.

    New this year:

    1. Payment of the team fee and the Gwinnett County Swim League (GCSL) per swimmer fee is now made by credit card and will be processed when you register. This change is due to a new GCSL policy requiring their swimmer fees be paid by credit card at registration and the inability of the web site tool to allow us to collect our team fees using a different method. If you wish to register, but aren’t able to pay by credit card, please email me at [email protected].
    2. For those who need a new suit this year, the team suit is now the TYR Lambent, as the prior team suit is no longer widely available. You can purchase this suit at a discount through the team page at the Swim Atlanta Swim Shop, or elsewhere if you prefer. The SWAT Swim Shop will also be at the March 15th Open House with suits to try and to buy. A reminder that the team suit is not required, although either it or another black and white or solid black suit are encouraged for Meets.

    2020 Coaching

    • I’m happy to share that Coach Driscoll is returning as our head coach this season. He is in the process of interviewing for the assistant coach positions and they will be finalized by March 15th.  Interviews for the junior coach and volunteer coaching spots will begin after the Open House. If you have a swimmer interested in being a 2020 junior or volunteer coach, please have them email [email protected].

Gwinnett County Park Survey – share your thoughts!

    • Gwinnett County Parks and Rec is conducting a survey to identify community needs and priorities. The link is being shared among our cluster summer league and high school team members to encourage those who wish to do so to participate. One hopeful outcome of the survey will be a commitment to build more competition pools. Those with swimmers at the high school level will be familiar with the challenges of multiple teams sharing the Collins Hill facility and how hot and crowded it gets during Meets. Click here if you wish to participate in the survey.

Look forward to seeing all who can make it on the 15th.
