Q&A Zoom call Wednesday @ 7:30 pm, Stroke & Turn info

It's almost time - 2021 Summer Swim practice begins next Monday, May 10th!  The  coaches are excited and ready to go, committed to making it a fun & engaging season, while also following the COVID safety guidelines.

Practice times for the first week are:

    • 10 & under - 7:00 - 7:55 pm
    •  11 & Up - 8:00 - 9:00 pm

    Practice guidelines:

    • Swimmers are to report to practice with a mask on and dressed to swim (suit and caps on, no changing at the pool), but also with sneakers in case we do dry land activities the first night or two.
    • Masks will be taken off while swimming and can be left with the swim bag, but need to be put back on immediately upon practice completion.
    • We will be cleaning kick boards between practices.  If you wish your swimmer to have a dedicated kick board, please purchase one, write the swimmer's name on the board with sharpie, and send it to practice with your swimmer each day.
    • There will be signs indicating the practice entrance and exit points.  Please drop your swimmer off.  The coaches will check them in and send them to their assigned lane area.  No parents or siblings on the pool deck during practice at this time, with the possible exception of U8 swimmer parents.  If you're a U8 child's parent and feel you need to stay on deck to support your child, please let the coach checking in your child know.  You must wear a mask if you are on the pool deck.
    • Participants in the second practice, please don't enter the pool until the first practice group has been dismissed.

2021 Stroke & Turn & Starter Training - Great Way to Have a Front Row Seat

Spectators on the deck during Meets this year will be limited.  A great way to have a front row seat is to be a Stroke and Turn official.  Below are the training dates for both Stroke & Turn and Starters.  Certification is good for 3 years.  If you attend the Stroke & Turn certification class, please email [email protected] so I can confirm the League adds you to the Rivershyre Officials list.

    • You must be a Stroke and Turn Official in order to be a Starter, you cannot be Starter certified only.  Stroke and Turn & Starter Training may be taken both in same year in any order.
