Mask reminder, practice notes
It was great to see so many at the pool last night, and to get the season off an running. The Sharks are BACK:).
A few notes:
1. Please remember to have your swimmer wear a mask to and from practice. During these 1st couple weeks with the full age groups at one practice session, they'll also be asked to wear them during the dry land exercises with the large group. We understand and are very thankful for the fact that the outdoor transmission risk is very low, this is why we've been allowed to have a season. And we'll continue to monitor guidelines and adjust as we can - for example, not having them wear masks when they're working in a small group on deck when they can be spaced apart. If your swimmer is not able to wear a mask, please let Coach Daab or me know.
2. 7:50 pm 1st practice dismal to manage swimmer flow in and out of the pool - we learned last night that the clubhouse pool gate lock is currently broken, so all traffic for now is in and out of the tennis court side gate. We'll start dismissing the first practice group around 7:50 pm. Once the deck is cleared, the gate will be open for the 8:00 pm practice group.
3. Parents on deck during practice and restroom use - the pool restroom is open and parents are welcome to walk through the the deck to use it. It's also fine to walk your swimmers in and drop them off, but please wear a mask. If you have a young new swimmer who is anxious and you feel you need to be visible to them during these early days of practice, please let me know and we'll find a spot for you to sit until they become more comfortable.
Thank you all for your understanding and flexibility. I know we have common goals of keeping the swimmers safe, having fun and in the water all season long!
I'll be at the pool most nights this week available for questions or feedback.
