Great job Sharks on the last two Meets. We’ve outscored our opponent in each and many swimmers have achieved personal best times! We've also had a bunch of awesome volunteers making sure the Meets run smoothly.  A special shout out to last week's Timers, thanks for cheering in your lanes and for staying the course throughout the downpour at the end.

Sunday Practice Reminders

• New 6:30 - 7:00 pm beginner practice starts tonight, please have your swimmer attend this one if they're not yet able to swim a full lap
• Ribbons from last week's Meet available for pick-up from the ribbon folder 
• Treat and Swimmer of the Meet awards between the U10 and 11&up practices

Rivershyre vs Richland Meet June 17th

• RSVP and make stroke and job selection by midnight tonight
• Meet theme is Fan Day / Favorite Sports Team
• 10 & Under group - arrive by 6:00 pm, warm-up at 6:15 pm, Meet start at 6:30 pm. 11 & Up group - arrive by 7:30 pm, warm-up at 7:45 (or as soon as the 10U events are completed), Meet start at 8:00 pm
• Concessions items have been restocked - thanks for all for the donations that have supported this fundraiser!

County Championship - Initial Info

The GCSL County Championship Meet will be held at Georgia Tech Friday, July 9th - Sunday, July 12th.  The current schedule by age group (subject to change) is:

• Session 1: Friday July 9th PM - 15-18 age group - start time TBD (late afternoon) The normal 13-14 & 15-18 session is being split to comply with crowd restrictions and guidelines from Tech. This is necessary to allow the Top 50 swimmers from each age group to participate.
• Session 2 : Saturday July 10th AM - 9-10 age group - start time 9:20AM
• Session 3 : Saturday July 10th PM - 13-14 age group - start time 3:15 PM
• Session 4 : Sunday July 11 AM - 8 & under age group - start time 9:15 AM
• Session 5 : Sunday July 11 PM - 11& 12 age group - start time 3 PM

Meet Logistics

• There are no spectator allows at the County meet per current GA Tech rules.
• Volunteer positions will be limited, with a certain number required from each team based on the number of team participants in each session
• Teams will be sitting in the stands in designated spots. The deck will be used for staging only.

Swimmer Eligibility

For those new to the Team, swimmers on the Top 100 list or on A relays after the final Meet are eligible for the Sharks Country Championship team. They have the opportunity to continuing practicing until the Country Meet on July 10-11 at Georgia Tech. 

Swimmers in the top 100 for individual events only (not also on an A relay) are able to compete in the Championship Meet if their final position is in the Top 50 once the GCSL seeds the Meet. Swimmers in the 51-65 spots often end up making it into the top 50 due to higher ranked swimmers not participating. Those in spots below 65 sometimes make it as well, especially in the older age groups.
