County Time Trial Meet - Top 100 Swimmers

For Shark swimmers who have County Top 100 Times or are very close to Top 100 times:

The League has given teams the option of running a Time Trial Meet, allowing swimmers one additional opportunity to try to qualify for County.  The Rivershyre Time Trial Meet is Sunday, June 27th.  Sign-up is now open.  Please RSVP and select your events by Saturday at noon.

Meet setup will begin at 7:30 p.m.  Swimmers report at 7:45 pm for warm-up at 8:00 pm, Meet will start at 8:15 pm.  (We need to wait until 8:00 pm to start warm-ups so we can have all 5 lanes of the pool.)

    Meet Logistics

    • This Meet is for times only.  There will be no place ribbons or heat winners awarded.
    • The Meet includes individual events only, no relays will be swum.  Swimmers can sign up for 3 individual events only.
    • Each family is asked to sign-up for a volunteer job until all jobs are full.  There will be far fewer swimmers than normal in the Meet, so we need each participant family to help out in order to run the Meet.
    • There will be concessions at the Meet.

How do I know if my swimmer is in or close to the Top 100?

Each week after the Meet results from all teams are in, the GCSL posts an updated Top 100 on their site.  We then post the full list and a Rivershyre-only version on the www.rivershyresharks.com Home page.  The latest Rivershyre-only report is also attached to this email.  This list will be updated for Week 4 results by Saturday morning, possibly sooner.

If your swimmer isn't currently on the list, but you check the GCSL full list and see that their time is close to a top 100 time in an event, they're welcome to come to the Meet and swim.

A reminder that only the Top 50 in the final seeding participate in the County Meet individual events.  Rivershyre will seed all our team members in the Top 100 who have rsvp'd yes for County.  GCSL will produce the final combined list on July 5th and our coaches will then let the swimmers know if they've made it into the list and, if so, what position they're in.

Swimmers well below 50 in the seedings do often move up due to other swimmers choosing not to swim.

Please speak with Coaches Daab, Katie or Katherine If you have questions about whether your swimmer should participate in this Meet or what events they should swim. Please also check with them if you have questions about whether your swimmer will be on the Rivershyre County relay team (these are the swimmers who swim in the "A" relays for each age group).
