Good evening, current and past Sharks – the weeks are flying by, and we’re going to be in the pool soon! This is the last email that will include last year’s team members, so please register soon if you haven’t yet done so and are planning to return.

Important Dates

Friday, May 6th – Last day to register for your swimmer to receive a team t-shirt.

Monday, May 13^th – Practice Starts

For the first week, swimmers need sneakers in addition to their suits, as we’ll likely do a mix of dry land and in-the-pool activities, especially for the younger groups.

Wednesday, May 15^th – New Parents Meeting @ 7PM & 8PM

It is crucial for at least one parent from new families to attend this meeting. We will go over volunteer duties, the different volunteer options, and answer any questions you may have. You can come at 7PM or 8PM.

Monday, May 20^th – Mock Meet

This is not mandatory, but highly recommended for all new families. This will be a “mini” version of a regular meet and will be a great opportunity for kids to experience what a meet will be like and for parents to try different volunteer roles.

Our meet schedule has been posted on the www.rivershyresharks.com home page. Please note that the meet RSVP and Volunteer RSVP will open after our crucial new parent meeting. Two meets are currently listed as Last Chance Meets – please disregard this. These are regular meets, and for both of them, we will be swimming at the opponent's pool.

We're in need of more certified Stroke & Turn volunteers. Remember, meets cannot run without volunteers, and we need your Help! They have made it extremely easy this year by providing On-Demand Training that you can do at your own pace. Instructions are attached to this email.

Reminder: Our 2024 team suit is the TYR solid black suit. Order from the Swim ATL Swim Shop Rivershyre team page to enjoy the discounted pricing they’ve provided. The team suit remains optional; any solid black or black-and-white suit is fine for Dual Meets. We also have gently used suits at a discounted price from prior swimmers that can be purchased at practice.

SwimTopia Mobile App will be used again this year for Team Alerts for weather delays/cancellations, signup for meets/events, and viewing volunteer commitments and swim results. Download this app before the first practice to be sure you have the latest updates. (You'll need to know your site login - email and password - to activate the app.)
