    Important Reminders for this Week

    Shark Families,

Please see below for donation, practice & mock meet reminders.

Donations – $10 Donation per Family

To help fund coaches’ salaries and swimmer treats like Heat Winners, Swimmer of the Week awards, and the End of Season party awards, we are requesting a $10 donation per family (instead of drink donations).

    • Donations can be dropped off to Rachel or Amanda during practice, or you can Venmo to @rs-sharks. Please include swimmer(s) name if you donate via Venmo.

    Wednesday, 5/20 - NO PRACTICE

    • The neighborhood will be hosting an event at the pool on Wednesday night, so the pool will not be available for practice.

    Thursday, 5/21 - Mock Meet

    • Please arrive by 5:30PM (Bubbles can arrive at 5:50 if they want to swim in the first lap to start the meet).
    • If you can volunteer for setup during home meets (arrival time 4PM), please arrive at the mock meet at 5:00PM to see what needs to be done during setup.
    • There will NOT be concessions at the mock meet.

    Sunday, 5/24 & Monday, 5/25 - NO PRACTICE

    • Practice will be canceled these evenings for the Memorial Day holiday

    Important Volunteer Roles Needed

    • Stroke & Turn Judges
      • We need more certified Stroke & Turn volunteers. Remember, meets cannot run without volunteers, and we need your Help! They have made it extremely easy this year by providing On-Demand Training that you can do at your own pace. Instructions are attached to this email.
    • Bullpen (Responsible for gathering swimmers for each event and sending them to the staging area)
      • Amanda will be in the bullpen during the mock meet to help train new volunteers .
    • Staging (Responsible for lining up swimmers for events behind the starting blocks)
      • We have our amazing head staging volunteer, Mokota, who will help train new volunteers.

As we move further into the swim season, we’d like to gently remind everyone that volunteer participation is required for all families who have swimmers participating in the swim meets. Our meets can only run smoothly when everyone contributes and helps share the workload.

We are incredibly grateful for the amazing volunteers who consistently step up — many of whom work well beyond their required four volunteer sessions to ensure our swimmers have a successful and enjoyable meet experience. However, it is not fair for the same families to carry the majority of the responsibility week after week.

When everyone participates, it creates a better experience for the entire team and helps prevent burnout among our dedicated volunteers.

Volunteer opportunities for all meets will be opened after the mock meet on Thursday.

Thank you for supporting the team and helping make this season a success!

    Thanks,

    Rachel
